About BotFather
BotFather is where every Telegram bot begins. It issues API tokens, sets names, descriptions, commands, profile pictures and inline mode, and it is the only official way to do any of that. It serves 8.7M monthly users, up 5.5% over 30 days, at 85.7% of its 10.2M peak. For infrastructure that only developers touch, that is a large and remarkably steady audience, it tracks how many people are building on the platform at all. If you are shipping anything on Telegram, from a one-command bot to a Mini App, this is step one.
